Location: Successful candidate’s home office in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) region or Upside Software Inc. Edmonton, AB, Canada.
Successful candidates will lead the effort to identify and develop sales
channels in specific geographies. The current priorities are to establish
content-capable distributors in Brazil (for Latin America), Korea, Japan,
Russia, India, China, Australia, Europe, Middle East and Turkey. The
candidate will also be expected to be an active participant in the company’s
direct sales activities, which will also aid in increasing total
compensation due to commissions.
This position is highly entrepreneurial. We need to
identify distributors or capable individuals within each country and then
support them pragmatically to ensure successful entry into the new markets.
Our longer term goal is to use the distributor approach as a means to evolve
towards a direct sales subsidiary model within each of the targeted
countries. This role would guide the sales process and also facilitate the
application of company resources during sales campaigns and initial
implementations.
Successful experience developing international sales channels for supply
chain software companies such as SAP, Oracle, i2 or other enterprise
application providers is the ideal background for this position. Experience
in the domains of sourcing/procurement and/or contract management software
or consulting is likely essential background for a candidate for this
position.
Responsibilities of this role include (but may not be limited to):
- Meet all quarterly and annual quota objectives
- Develop successful channel distributors in the various regions as prioritized by the company
- Working closely with the company’s partners and distributors in ensuring a win-win relationship and joint success
- Measure success of channel strategy, providing various levels of reporting indicating actual results
- Profile and develop incremental sales opportunities with Global 2000 companies within your assigned sales territory via cold calling and emails
- Identify, develop, and manage a growing sales pipeline of qualified opportunities
- Develop a clear and concise understanding of stakeholders’ business and technical requirements via the phone and use this information to help position Upside’s software and services offering
- Identify and penetrate new market opportunities by calling on senior-level executives including CXO, VP, and Director level decision makers
- Represent Upside Software at trade shows and conferences
- Travel is expected to constitute about 25% of the candidate’s time but can vary
Experience and Skill Requirements:
- Experience selling supply chain management, procurement software, spend-analysis, contract management or sourcing software required
- Experience in building a sales channel for an enterprise application provider (preferably someone like an SAP, Oracle, i2, etc.)
- Minimum 5 years experience selling enterprise software solutions to Global 2000 accounts
- Excellent opportunity, time, and overall territory management skills
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong listening skills
- Strong probing, qualification, and opportunity development skills at a strategic and tactical level
- Consistent track record of building a territory, generating leads, and cold calling CXO, VP, and Director level prospects
- Proven consultative sales solution skills, including the ability to articulate a clear concise value proposition and return on investment value statement
- Demonstrated ability to develop opportunities within an early adopter marketplace.
- Consistent track record meeting and exceeding sales quotas
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
