Documentation Specialist

This is an excellent entry level position for a creative, detail-oriented
individual that is interested in furthering their career in technical
writing. The chosen candidate will work closely with members of the Client
Support Services team, performing both technical documentation duties and
sales duties as required. The ideal candidate will be professional and will
possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written. This is a
challenging position that requires a team player with exceptional
organization and time management skills.
Responsibilities of this role include (but may not be limited to):
Documentation Activities
- Assist
in the creative process to build new types of documentation
- Offer
new ideas to help enrich existing material
- Consult
with other members of the team to learn about new functionality and
projects
- Create
and maintain help documentation for entire product line
- Develop
monthly webcast scripts
- Design
user manuals
- Develop
training guides for client training sessions
- Develop
training scripts for video training library
- Perform
proofreading and research as required
- Review
and perform QA on documentation to ensure technical accuracy
- Become
product specialist
Qualifications may
include (but are not limited to):
- Minimum
2 year post secondary diploma in a related field
- Familiarity
with graphics and documentation software
- Proficiency
in RoboHelp, HTML and Microsoft Word
- Excellent
interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
- Excellent
proofreading skills
- Ability
to learn complex software
- Ability
to work on multiple projects under tight time constraints
- Ability
to give and receive constructive criticism
- Excellent
analytical and problem solving skills
- Enthusiasm
for writing and the subtle intricacies of language
